The National Weather Festival is the largest event hosted by the National Weather Center, attracting over 4,000 guests annually. The NWF features many weather-related organizations, such as the National Weather Service, Oklahoma Mesonet, Storm Prediction Center, and broadcast meteorologists from local news channels.

The festival explained it is working to provide refund details for tickets already purchased. "This has been an agonizing turn of events for what was to be such a special weekend," the post continued.
"We are looking at potential high winds and lightning, and those are the things that really concern us," said Jami Goldstein, vice president of marketing, communications and events at the Greater Columbus Arts Council. "We go rain or shine, but when we see that kind of weather moving into the area, we put everyone's safety first."

Fans at the Cruel World festival had to leave the no-roof stadium after a National Weather Service alert went out a little before 9:30 p.m. about a storm that threatened to produce strong gusty winds, heavy downpours, lightning and small hail as it passed between Pasadena and Monrovia.

The National Weather Service will be monitoring any weather events that may occur for our specific location during the festival and we have procedures in place to react appropriately to keep all attendees safe.
The livestream will be active during the festival beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Fans can tune in to the Amazon Music channel on Twitch and Prime Video. It is presented by Rotation, a global hip-hop and R&B brand from Amazon Music.
Please note: When the Fall Festival is open, even a small rain shower will result in the closing of some attractions, at least temporarily. Most of our slides do not work when wet. Also, if weather deteriorates, the festival may end up closing early. If this happens, rain checks are available for anyone whose visit is curtailed.
"Due to the incoming extreme weather event and potential tropical storm that is forecast to hit the DC area this weekend, we are going to be canceling Splash on September 23rd. The forecast shows heavy rain, low temperatures, and strong gusts of wind which would make it unsafe to have swimmers in the water. We are extremely disappointed to cancel our event but for the safety of all of the splashers, staff, and volunteers, this is the correct call."
The Festival is still scheduled to open at 10 a.m. Sunday. No refunds will be issued for this day unless the event decides to close. While the festival is still going to open, ticket sales have been suspended for the day in order to preserve the site grounds and parking.
"Out of an abundance of caution in light of the State of Emergency issued earlier tonight by Governor Wes Moore and due to poor weather and deteriorating travel conditions expected by the arrival of Tropical Storm Ophelia tonight and through tomorrow, all Anne Arundel County Schools-sponsored activities scheduled for Saturday, September 23, are postponed."
Officials with the festival say festival grounds will be closed Saturday because of the storm. Any tickets purchased for this date will automatically be refunded. The festival is expected to reopen Sunday.

The Norman Chamber of Commerce's Weather Committee hosts the annual National Weather Festival every year at the National Weather Center in Norman. The free public event features tours, children's activities, a storm chaser car show, displays by local businesses, weather-related seminars, Science on a Sphere, and hourly weather balloon launches.
Good news: The shuttle is back this year with satellite parking at Dogwood Dell on Saturday and Sunday only. A shuttle will take you to Spring Street within the festival site for $5. Buses run roughly every 30 minutes.
The Silver Spring Arts & Entertainment District is home to several Breweries! New this year will be an on-site Brewery Garden with seating, lounge areas, lawn games, and art demos. The Brewery Garden will be adjacent to the festival site on Ellsworth Drive.
The Silver Spring Jazz Festival continues rain or shine. If weather conditions become dangerous, an announcement will be made from the stage to take cover in the adjacent parking garage. If the dangerous weather causes the event to be canceled, an announcement will be made through Montgomery County Public Information Channels.
At the information booth closest to Ellsworth Drive, attendees can sign-up for a raffle to win a Silver Spring Jazz Festival chair or a gift bag from the Silver Spring Arts & Entertainment District including festival swag.
This year's Blue Ridge Rock Festival is having a rough go. Severe weather forced the festival to halt entertainment for a short bit earlier on Thursday and unfortunately, it appears that the festival has been forced to cancel day 3 of the event altogether due to weather once again.
Once again due to the weather, the day started with delayed entry but unfortunately, the organizers were forced to make the call. Ultimately the storm was severe enough with 30-40 mph winds, heavy rain, along thunder and lightning.
There is no official word on whether the event will continue on for its fourth and final day, however, the festival is monitoring the weather and will have a decision by 5 pm today on if the event will continue.

Due to the weather, the Thriller & Halloween Parade and the Halloween Festival & Variety Show have been postponed and moved to next weekend at the fairgrounds at Masterson Station Park. The event will now take place on Sunday, Nov. 5. The expected rain and storms throughout the day necessitated not having the event tonight, due to challenges with setup, sound, performances, and potential safety concerns for attendees.
