Hi,

I am trying to use lasground_new with my UAV point cloud. The las file
is 5.4 GB and contains 223,533,127 points.
Immediately after entering the command I receive an error "cannot alloc
point_buffer for 223,533,127 points". I assume the las file exceeded the
maximum number of points, but what is the maximum number of points for
lasground_new? Is this depending on hardware? (I use a modern 6 core i7
processor with 40GB RAM).

thanks for any insight,
Niels

You should always start with one of the lastile samples, i.e. split your
huge data set into individual (buffered probably) tiles, then you can
run the rest in parallel on all your cores!

Look at Martin's suggested sample batch files...

Hello,

there is a blog article especially for dense-matching points that explains step by step how to do this for a large photogrammetry point cloud provided by Pix4D:

and also this for smaller ones
