our open-source tool lasvalidate performs the important task of checking whether LAS/LAZ files contain valid data and comply with specifications. Since LAS 1.5 introduced several changes to the format, lasvalidate was redesigned and reimplemented to meet these new requirements. The revised lasvalidate64 was released with version 260326. It analyzes header information, structural metadata, CRS definitions, and selected point attributes, and generates a structured validation report.
