Dear All,

We are facing a small issue in our company, which we hardly overcome.

We have a system, which has been optimezed to 2.4r1 version of LASZIP.
Now, we would like to implement new dataset (same system, upgraded post-processing software environment and hardware since the original), and we received LAZ files with LASZIP version 3.4r3
The latest version of the post-processing environment can export LAZ files with LASZIP version 3.1r0

The original scanner is a Riegl MLS system.

Our system is wired in to be able to handle point clouds in front-end side, and to validate the clouds, we used plas.io. If it visualize the point cloud, we are good. If not, then we failed.

Plas.io with the latest LAZ files says only Error, but no details at all.

It seems that, the newest version of LASZIP is not supported by plas.io, but requesting to downgrade an existing data would take extra effort, and normally, you wouldn't downgrade a fresh dataset.

Do you have any idea, how to fix this?
Either a way to load the clouds to plas.io, or providing a workaround, or a smart and fast way to change the LASZIP version number?

Please see the attached lasinfo report. Right side is the NEED, the left side is the HAVE.
The location information is blanked for safety reasons.

Thank you for your support!

Hello,

when I asked to include a "lasinfo report" I meant (1) a report of lasinfo from LAStools and (2) a report run on the compressed files. It seems you are using the (unfortunately identical named) lasinfo from libLAS to generate these reports and they do not include the specific details that I was looking for. Also it seems you are running on the uncompressed LAS files so that would anyways not have the info about compression that I was looking for. Can you use lasinfo from LAStools and rerun this on the compressed files? It is likely I may need sample data, though. Sending along links to two small samples (but in LAZ format) would also be really helpful.
Also ... your message is huge. Using text output instead of images would make it much smaller. Sorry for the additional work, but the current information is not enough for me to help.

Martin
