Storing tifs as laz

Hello,

I remember a discussion in the group about using laz format for tif files as a more efficient way.

Suppose it is demzip, for a two-way conversion

demzip -i * .tif   -olaz

demzip -i *.laz -o tif

Any comments? Do I lose something on a two-way route?

Hi Alejandro,

 

Yes, it works in both directions

 

demzip.exe -i %INPUT_PATH%\*.tif -cores %CORES% -odir %INPUT_PATH% -olaz

 

demzip.exe -i %INPUT_PATH%\*.laz -cores %CORES% -odir %INPUT_PATH% -otif -no_kml

 

Your output tif needs to be -otif , also if the raster file is two big it doesn’t work, you will need to use tiles.
