I am having difficulties converting txt to las in qgis (v 2.4) and get the message "missing parameter value: resolution of x and y coordinate" even though the default setting is at 0.01. I have tried changing the setting to 0.001 and other combinations, but with no luck. I suspect the issue might be with the x and y coordinates being in a projection that has very long strings of numbers such as "-84696.640 -2931655.010". Any advice will be highly appreciated.

Problem solved by using txt2las.exe directly, outside of QGIS. Simply drag and drop txt file on to the txt2las.exe icon in the LAStools\bin. Many thanks to Nicolas Cadieux for suggesting this.

I have tried to recreate the problem you reported but it works fine for me. Given that my GUI looks different (see attached) I think you are using an older, out-dated version of the toolbox. Make sure you follow these instructions (also read all the comments):
