Point clouds that are the result from UAV or drones based surveys rather than traditional fixed wing or helicopter missions are becoming increasingly common place. In the past most such light-weight flight systems only carried a camera and the point clouds had to be derived from the captured imagery via photogrammetric techniques such as dense-matching. More recently these systems also carry LiDAR sensors that produce points via direct light ranging techniques.
LAStools is able and popular to process either of these point cloud types. Want to know more? Meet rapidlasso GmbH on June 21 / 22 in Brussels, Belgium at the UAV Expo or meet us on June 29 / 30 for the LiDAR for Drone conference in Montpellier, France.
