I was processing an overage file to generate DTM and DSM using blast2dem. The generated DSM file can be viewed using ArcMap and ENVI. However, ArcMap and ENVI cannot open the generated DTM file. I don't know exactly what is the cause of this problem but there is an error reported every time I try to repeat the same process of generating DTM. It says, "Error writing data for field "StripOffsets"". Please see the snapshot. I hope some can share ideas on how to resolve this issue. Thank you.

Hello,

I assume you generated the raster that worked with other options? Either an IMG instead of a TIF or with step size 1 instead of 0.5? Because from the bounding box of your 0.5 billion point LAZ file I see that the extend in x direction is 10868.35 and the extend in y direction is 30556.38. With a step size of 0.5 you will get a raster of size 21736 x 61113 pixels and I think that this is simply too big for TIF. Try IMG instead and it should work.

Regards,

Martin @rapidlasso

PS: Coming Monday there will be a point cloud uprising that will shake the LiDAR universe to its ore and alter the established order of rasterization. This revolt will in particular affect anyone who produces high-resolution DSMs. Can you guess what this rebellion is about? Look here: http://www.facebook.com/LAStools/photos/969641513098293 (-;
