Hi everybody,

This time, I work on the road damage detection using Mobile laser scanner data.

I am looking for a small dataset of a damaged road ( with crack, rut, potholes). the roads in the Netherlands are quite good, its very difficult to find an area with the damaged road.

I would appreciate it if someone could send me such a free dataset.

Best wishes,

Anahita

Hello... Anahita...

my company recently scanned road to test our new lidar, I live in Indonesia, and I think we have road with pothole, if you like I can give you,
but may be you must make a proposal for it,

What sort of data do you seek?  I can provide some 2cm (velodyne HD32e) or 2mm (FARO x330 single sensor).  I will see what I can find on the server for a real pothole.  How big?

Hi,

That’s great!  Thank you.

I am looking for a mobile LiDAR dataset (one street or a small highway is enough to test). If the dataset consists of several paths, it would be great that the data has source ID information or doesn’t have any vertical distance between the paths.

It doesn’t matter how big the potholes or cracks are, just not be a perfect road.

Here is a small segment with about 5 million points with the velodyne data (2cm).  I will see if I can dig up the 2mm data later.  There is a catch basin to the southwest with a slump next to it along with a couple of cracks.  The fuzziness in the sensor might not yield great results for minor deviations, but have at it.

There's an older mobile lidar data set in American Samoa on Digital Coast at https://coast.noaa.gov/dataviewer/#/lidar/search/where:id=2497 (can subset here) or via the ftp site at ftp://coast.noaa.gov/pub/DigitalCoast/lidar1_z/geoid12a/data/2497/. Don't know if it has potholes, but hard to believe it doesn't.
