How do you generate an attribute table for sapefiles with las2iso?

I am generating contours shapfiles using las2iso: 

las2iso -i input.laz -keep_class 2 -clean 20 -smooth 20 -iso_every 2 -o output.shp 

The resulting shape-files have no attributes for elevation (or anything else) in the attribute table. The only place I can see elevation is as feature which is not typical:

Hello Nick,

I have added a new command line feature '-odbf' so that las2iso and lasboundary produce an attribute named "z" in the attribute table of a SHP file that contains the "z" coordinate of vertically flat polygons or polylines and the "z" coordinate half way between the min and the max elevation for polygons or polylines that are not vertically flat. Private message me if you need this version sooner than the next release.
