Hi, I am working in ubuntu 16.04 and I am trying to run lastools using wine.
I have tried using wine version 2.0.3 and 1.6.2, however I get the same error message:

err:module:load_builtin_dll failed to load .so lib for builtin L"GLU32.dll": libGL.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
err:module:import_dll Loading library GLU32.dll (which is needed by L"Z:\\home\\rafael\\Downloads\\LAStools\\bin\\lasview.exe") failed (error c000007a).
err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"Z:\\home\\rafael\\Downloads\\LAStools\\bin\\lasview.exe" failed, status c0000135

I download the library GLU32.dll and copied it into lastool bin folder but it does not work.

Someone could help me? thanks :)

Rafa,
There are a number of GLU32.dll files out there and they don't all work. I know I found one that did, but I don't remember what the particular attributes were that led me to it. Certainly it was a 32 bit version (there are 64-bit versions). I can drop the one I have that works with RHEL 7 under wine on an ftp site if that would help.

Hello Rafa,

Assuming you are using LAStools via command line calls or batch scripts and not via the GUIs then you could use the version of LAStools that was compiled without the OpenGL hooks that some times cause trouble when run in "Wine".
