LAS tool to estimate the crop volume.

Hi, 

I am working with row crops like potatoes and have LiDAR data collected. The problem with this crop is that it doesn't perform well in biomass estimation with the canopy height model. So, I plan to use the voxel-based volume model and try to relate it to crop biomass harvested in 1 m square. Can someone help me with any good resource that I can use to develop this data processing pipeline using LAS tools along with other platforms?
