How to convert .xyz data into las format?

Hi everyone..=)

Im a student from Malaysia, need help for my bachelor thesis. I need
to create a DEM from a LiDAR data, however, I only have the data
in .xyz format. I wanted to convert it into las format, so that it can
be easier to be filtered. I used the txt2las tool, however, an error
occured. Since I am quite new to LiDAR data, hopefully anyone can help
me to solve the problem. I herewith attached the printscreen of the
txt2las dialog box and window showing the error. (Info : I am using
ArcGIS 9.3)

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks..!!

Hello Shidi.

you need to eliminate the spaces from the path to the lastools folder.
as far as i know, python - which runs LAStools via the new ESRI LiDAR
processing toolbox) cannot handle a path like "E:\s t u d i e s\...".
just change it to "E:\studies\..." and try again.
