All of this gives me a better idea of the available software.
We currently exploring this new field
We probably need a software it can do the analysis and we can draw on it to built 3d models for the as built.

Here is the list of software you sugest me to use

One more free viewer is  Quick Terrain Reader. You can download it from their website. Not sure how it does compare to this extensive list of viewers, but I like a lot their point cloud display and easy travelling through point clouds.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Pointools View. It used to be a lot more versatile before it became Bentley Pointools, however it's still very efficient at rendering large clouds. Download from http://www.bentley.com/en-US/Promo/Pointools/pointools.htm?skid=CT_PRT_POINTOOLS_B

Global Mapper does a pretty good job of rendering LiDAR data with its latest version.

Topcon ScanMaster has some neat features for automated feature extraction, volume meshes etc.

Cheers,

Nick

Hi everyone,

I would definitely add " Cloud Compare" to the list. It is a free and efficient viewer,
