lasmerge64 don't write empty files

Hello,

I want to separate las tiles with an edge of 1000 m into tiles with an edge of 100 m using lasmerge64.

This works very well, using the -inside_rectangle option. Unfortunately, lasmerge64 writes empty files, if there is no data within the processed 100 m rectangle.

Is there any option or possibility (I haven't found yet) to supress the outut of empty files?

Hi Andreas,

you can't do that with lasmerge64 directly, but you can run

    lasinfo64 -i *.laz -delete_empty

after processing the files.

This command will delete and report all files having 0 points.
