Hi there,

I'm having trouble using the E572LAS.exe
I'm trying to write input, so that multiple *.E57 files will be converted to *.LAS files. I don't want to do that one-by-one.

As far as my very little knowledge about E572LAS.exe it should be something like this D:\LAStools\bin>e572las -v -i "F:\Scansap export OL E57\test1.e57" -o test1.las
D:\LAStools\bin>e572las -v -i "F:\Scansap export OL E57\test2.e57" -o test2.las
D:\LAStools\bin>e572las -v -i "F:\Scansap export OL E57\test3.e57" -o test3.las

And paste that in the CMD window. That doesn't seem to work.
Anybody here knows what i'm doing wrong?
Kind regards, Robin

Hi Robin,
you can improve your very little knowledge about E572las.exe by reading the readme file :)
I thougt it might work like
e572las -v -i *.e57
cause most of the LAStools work like that.
If not: Please tell exactly what doesn't seem to work.
What is the output?
What did you expect to be the output?

Thanks, good luck and best regards,

Jochen @rapidlasso

Hello Jochen,

Thanks for your reply.
I have read the readme file, but as i have no knowledge about Python etc, (i sometimes work with Recap) this is a very different cup of tea for me ;-)

My goal is a small test to batch convert multiple *.e57 files to *.las files so they can be used in Lasclip.

How i think it should work, is go to the folder that contains Lastools/Bin.
There pres Alt+D and type CMD so that the command window is opend in the Bin folder.

Then paste the lines from PSPad to the cmd folder.

But then i get this error:

e57 error.png

The blue message says: this app cannot be executed on your PC.
The CMD message is "Toegang geweigerd" meaning "acces denied".

Any clue to as what i'm doing wrong?

Kind regards,
Robin

Hi Robin,
thanks for teaching me some dutch :)
The message appears has nothing to so with LAStools or e572las and you have done nothing wrong.
It is a windows message, which tells you, that your computer don't allow to run this piece of software.
I guess you are in a company and your IT admins put some rules on that...
Ask them to allow to execute this program.
If you have admin rights on your computer you may try to run the console as admin (rightclick on cmd.exe and choose "uitvoeren als admin").

Best regards,

Jochen @rapidlasso

Hi, That seemed to be the problem. There were no administrator rules, but i it seemed to be an error in the e572las.exe file. I downloaded the latest version of lastools and now it works like charm.
Thanks for the support!

Kind regards,
Robin
