I've defined a few constants by default:

# Various constants

speed of light = 299792458 meters per second

the speed of light = 299792458 meters per second

pi = 3.141592653589

e = 2.71828183

Any other suggestions?

Ian.

Is this calculator lazily evaluated or strictly? If it's lazily evaluated you could define pi as a ratio instead of an abbreviated constant.

Here is the wolfram alpha page for mathematical constants http://mathworld.wolfram.com/Constant.html
This is the NIST page for constants in physics, http://physics.nist.gov/cuu/Constants/, maybe just use the ones under frequently used constants?
