I'm resending this because the links to the flyer images didn't work
in the one I just sent. With this screw-up, as well as Nechama's from
last week we're up to 4 emails this month. We lie, we lie, we
lie .... but it's all to support a good cause. When we get the
technical difficulties under control we'll narrow it back down to one

thanks

Ok so I'm going to have to cheat this month and send you two emails.
I know we promised only one per month, but we've got extra events this
month that I wanted every one to know about.

The regular October Show, this past Saturday 10/27/07 was a blast. We
had about 60 people, the bands did a great job, there was even a crazy
dance party going on for one of the sets and an off-the-wall jam
session after all the bands were done.

This Saturday we are having a Halloween Party. I know there are tons
of parties happening Saturday, but do any of those other parties have
4 awesome bands rocking you out in the friendly atmosphere of Last
Resort? The people responsible for this party are friends of MDi, who
brought a ton of people out for our September show so you know it's
going to be an insanely good time. MDi is coming back for this show,
my band Dared The Knot is playing, Foisol who is organizing the show
will play with his band The Kentucky Vampire Clan and friends
Astrophel & Stella will play. See below for more info.

The November show is booked for Saturday 11/17/07. I will send info
on the bands later. The flyer is posted below.

Yes, we plan on having a monstrously good time at the Last Resort Art
Space Halloween Party this Saturday, 10/27/07.

The party starts at 8pm and goes until you leave. As always it's byob,
but we will have some stuff there. If you're over 21, bring your ID if
you want to drink.

It's $7 to get in but only $5 if you wear a costume. It will be so
much cooler if the majority of people are wearing crazy costumes, so
we highly encourage you to do so.

We have a great line-up:

MDi

Experimental, progressive-rock with seemingly indie and hardcore
roots, similar to contemporaries like Incubus and Circa Survive, but
even managing to show slight traces and influences from groups like
The Mars Volta. They truly try to paint a surreal landscape with their
music

Dared The Knot

DTK plays industrial music with a progressive bent. Theirs is a fusion
of electronic and heavy, guitar-driven musics using live
instrumentation. It takes influence from bands like Nine Inch Nails,
Tool, A Perfect Circle, Ministry, Massive Attack and Curve but has a
sound uniquely its own (as adding those bands together would produce
something unique). Edgy, goth and shoegaze-influenced rock and metal
with electronica style beats and synths, loud and atmospheric guitars,
live, soulful bass and lyrical vocals.

Astrophel & Stella

A brand of melodic punk unique with the subtleties in their
musicianship. Raw sound and the aggression, with the use of jazz
chording and extremely technical drumming and super hooky choruses.
These guys can appeal to hardcore kids as much as they would to indie
pop kids, music snobs and trendy types can share a common interest.

Kentucky Vampire Clan

Guitar driven "pop-core". Jangly guitars one moment to distorted chaos
another, all with modern rock and pop leanings, with heartfelt
emotional lyrics, likely taken out of a personal Mead notebook journal
and experiences from the lead singer.
