Last Resort Art Space has another show coming up. On Saturday,
September 22nd, at 9 pm, you can pay five (5) bucks to see the
following five (5) bands:
* Lachi *
A singer-songwriter whose music tends toward jazz, lounge, and soul,
and yet remains totally uncatagorizable due to unusual chord
progressions, weird lyrics, and flexible singing. (See: www.ulachi.com)
* Kate Smackles *
A blend of acousic indie folk, baroque music for strings, electronica
and late night coffee house blues. With live painting (!) by Sarah

* Red Lights to Rio *
This band used to be called Shaka Zulu Overdrive, until the heirs of
Shaka Zulu demanded that they cease using his name. FOR REAL! Now they
have a new name and they still sounds amazing. The band describes
itself as shoe-gazing negro prog rock, and Time Out New York says
that their baroque funk thunder will move your head and ass alike.

* The Stoics *
In an informal survey of 3 listeners, 2 listeners really enjoyed this
music, and 1 listener was a dog. Imagine the Violent Femmes around a

* M.D.i. *
A trippy, noisy band that describes itself as sounding like a garbage
disposal with a spoon stuck in it. Their music should appeal to fans
of reverb and the Deftones. (See: www.myspace.com/mdi5)
This party will go on until the wee hours. There will be attractive
people there, and adorable dogs. Bring your own booze, please, you
know we can't sell it to you legally and we can't afford to give it
away.
