Our calendar for the next month or more consists of NO EVENTS while we
renovate the space. We're adding:
- mucho gallery wall space
- roof access (in time for spring)
These are very good things and sorely desired if not needed.
HOWEVER, mark your calendars. On March 4th we're putting on a Purim
party. Purim is a Jewish holiday that's like St. Patrick's day and
Halloween combined, insofar as you get drunk and wear costumes. And eat
cookies. And make noise art during liturgical services. The party is
for EVERYONE (Jews and non-Jews and in between Jews). Purim is the
holiday of inversions and reversals, and we promise a surreal time.
Where will the Purim party be held? Perhaps at the newly renovated Last
Resort Art Space. However, it's also possible that the space here will
still be a pile of construction rubble. If you have a loft or house in
Astoria or LIC and want to help host this event, talk to me. I can
offer you two things in return
- skyrocketing karma, and
- free entry into all future Last Resort events for you and your
roommates
Lastly, Dave Rand aka Robot Goes Here tells me that several people at
the show mentioned to him that they signed up for this list when they
meant to sign up for his list. He'll be sending ya'al an invite to join
his list so no one misses out on their desired information. That's an
INVITE, you have to accept it to join. Next time, pay attention to
which list you're joining, people!
