I have the same issue, exactly and no matter which of the above steps I try, I cannot change the ringtone on my brand new Chime. It is just so amazing. I wonder where I else I could post to get some attention to this, like Wirecutter. Or iFixit or Consumer Reports. Customers have gone for over a year without a fix? Really?
Same issue. Tried uninstalling the App, turning off my phone, then re-installing. My rating as Ring as a company is in the gutter at the moment. Unable to fix a broken LED blub on my 150 Floodlight and now this simple bit of functionality not working! I will not be buying anymore Ring products.
@Ganapathi1 : Is it ironic? It's a very simple and essential function of a dual sim! I'm using a private and professional SIM and with different ringtons, I don't have to watch the phone to know which one is calling!...

Can anyone please help. I need to downgrade firmware to get my dual ringtones back I have searched for firmware but can't seem to find 30.1.B.1.33 for download. Sony if you can't sort out your problems get a official site for those that want to downgrade so they can use their dual sim phones for their intended purpose that includes dual ring tones.
On a french support forum, it's been said that it won't be added with Nougat !... I saw an Honor 8 (Dual sim, Android 6) and it's possible to choose different ringtones for each sim! It's not a limitation from Android, it's a Sony's choice !
On my BQ Aquaris M5.5 that I had previously under Android 6, there was indeed the distinct ring for each sim. With Android 7, it's the same.
For info, currently I am in ROM 5.1.1 (build 32.0.a.6.209) that I reinstalled after putting the 6.1 and I realized that I did not have more different ringtones for each SIM; Of the blow my Sony which was an E6833 turned into E6883, but according to other forums, it is not embarrassing, it is only a serial number depending on the country where the mobile is sold (mine Bought rue du commerce would be referenced "Middle East")

Since Sony DOES NOT want us to have this function in its customized ROM, what alternative ROM Android 7 could be installed? The Sony interface, we do not care (seen as customers are considered buying phones at 600 EUR).
