On July 19, the Call of Duty Warzone Mobile page on Google Play was updated, and the fixed release date was removed. In addition, Germany was recently added as the newest limited release region, allowing players from the country to try out the game in its current state. Germany joins Australia, Chile, Sweden, and Norway as other countries with access.

The excitement surrounding COD 2023 is mounting, with a slew of leaks and confirmations heralding the arrival of a new iteration of Modern Warfare 3 this year. As the launch date approaches, here's a comprehensive rundown of everything we currently know about this year's COD title.

Modern Warfare 3 is set to make its grand entrance on November 10, 2023, as Activision officially announced on August 8. This date aligns with the typical release window for Call of Duty titles, although circumstances may change.

It's essential to note that apart from the Full Release date, none of these dates have received official confirmation from Activision or the development studios. Thus, it's prudent to await official information as we anticipate the game's launch.

As well as a new map, players will also have to adapt their playstyle to accommodate the new movement abilities and aiming techniques from MW3. Slide canceling is back, which allows players to change height in a gunfight, keep up their speed, and overall set a much higher pace for battles than many will be used to.

There are several perk updates, too. Perks like Tempered and Combat Scout make a return, while there are new additions in the form of Shrouded and Irradiated. The new and returning perks are:

At launch, the game featured two main game modes: Battle Royale and Plunder. Warzone introduces a new in-game currency system that can be used at "Buy Stations" in and around the map. "Loadout Drops" are a key in-game object allowing players to access and switch between their customized classes and are obtainable through purchase with the Cash currency.[3] Players could also use Cash to purchase items such as "killstreaks" and gas masks. Cash could be found by looting buildings and killing players that had cash on them. At launch, Warzone only offered Trios, a squad capacity of three players; Solos, Duos and Quads were eventually added to the game via post-launch updates.

At launch, Warzone featured two primary game modes: Battle Royale and Plunder.[8] These game modes were initially playable in a squad capacity of three players ("Trios"); post-launch updates made the modes playable in other squad sizes, such as Solos, Duos and Quads.[10] In addition to Battle Royale and Plunder, several new game modes, including various limited-time modes and the "Resurgence" game mode, have been introduced throughout the course of the game's life cycle.[11] Warzone has also been used to reveal upcoming Call of Duty titles through similar limited-time gamemodes.[12][13]

An updated version of the map, titled "Verdansk '84", was released in April 2021 alongside the third post-launch season for Black Ops Cold War; it was unveiled after the nuclear destruction of its modern-day counterpart.[18] The majority of structures and locations were rethemed and revisited, along with global touch-ups across the entire map. The map featured seven new locations, five revamped locations,[19] the removal of several structures and obstacles, and the addition of a new centerpiece, the Grid Radar Array.[20] Several new locations and points of interest were added to the map as the integrated seasons of Cold War and Warzone progressed. These included Nakatomi Plaza, survival camps, CIA outposts,[21] several satellite crash sites, and "Red Doors".[22] Also featured were new global weapon loadout changes from Modern Warfare to Cold War, with weapons from the former still being accessible via Loadout Drops.[23][24]

Rebirth Island was the second map introduced in the game with the integration of Black Ops Cold War's contents. The map was based on the real-life Vozrozhdeniya Island, which was also featured in the campaign mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops. Design-wise, the map is a re-imagination of "Alcatraz Island",[25] previously featured in Black Ops 4's Blackout mode. Unlike Verdansk, Rebirth Island is smaller in scale, only allowing 40 players maximum per match.[26] An updated version of the map, titled "Rebirth Island Reinforced", was released in March 2022, featuring two new points of interest, Stronghold and Docks, and various cosmetic tweaks.[27]

For the release of Call of Duty: Vanguard, a second content integration was announced for Warzone by Activision and Sledgehammer Games. As with the Cold War integration, new items from Vanguard, including operator characters and weapons, would be added to Warzone while allowing players to retain items from Modern Warfare and Cold War. An early integration was included with the Cold War Season 6 update in October 2021, which featured cosmetic blueprints for two Vanguard weapons added to Warzone as additional free items from the seasonal battle pass. The full integration was released on December 8, 2021, to coincide with the launch of Vanguard's first post-launch season.[40][41]

Since we now have a confirmed Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 release date and time, we've listed it below alongside everything we know about the upcoming Modern Warfare 3 Season, including roadmap details for both that game and Warzone.

The Warzone 2 Season 2 update brings back Resurgence mode and adds a completely new map, called Ashika Island, on February 15 when it releases. The Season 2 update is huge, with a colossal list of patch notes and plenty of other additions, including several new weapons and guns, the Ronin Operator, and new maps, modes, and a ranked playlist for Modern Warfare 2. As for Warzone 2, the Gulag is returning to 1v1s, armor plates are getting adjusted, and there's a new Al Mazrah POI that looks like a classic Modern Warfare 2 (2009) map. DMZ fans will also get to infiltrate Ashika Island too! Those are just the most notable changes, so read ahead to learn about everything in the Warzone 2 Season 2 update.

The Warzone 2 Season 2 update will go live on February 15 at 9am PST / 12pm EST / 5pm GMT. That's a change from the previous Wednesday February 1 date stated by the Battle Pass countdown for Season 1.

The update delay is due to the developer making "several changes" based on player feedback - promising a return of Resurgence, a new, smaller map for Warzone 2, ranked play in Modern Warfare 2, along with new maps, modes and "much more", all of which we've detailed below.

There are a lot changes heading into the game with the Warzone Season 2 update, ranging from an entirely new map for Resurgence, new weapons, and 1v1 Gulag returning to Warzone 2. To learn more about changes coming in at launch and throughout the season, take a look at the Warzone 2 Season 2 roadmap, but you can also go straight from the source, and read the patch notes blog article for an extremely thorough breakdown. We've got all the important headline updates below.

The Resurgence game mode returns with Warzone 2 Season 2 on an entirely new map: Warzone 2 Ashika Island, set off the coast of Japan. Not only that, but Ashika will be pulling double duty and also serves as a DMZ map too. As a Resurgence map, Ashika Island is much smaller than Al Mazrah, better suited for frenetic combat as squads are forced together. The map also features new Redploy Drones that can move to accommodate new circles and can be destroyed with lock-on missiles, denying other players the chance to reposition with a parachute.

Ashika Island also has a unique feature known as 'Restore Honor', which causes players to drop a dog tag after their first death in a Resurgence or Battle Royale match. Recovering the tag yourself, or getting a squadmate to do it, awards Cash and a single UAV ping, revealing nearby enemies and Supply Boxes. There will also be a unique Search and Seizure Contract, which tasks players with retrieving and moving a marked vehicle, and a new Public Event known as Data Heist, where players must begin downloading data and fending off Shadow Company forces to get in-match bonuses.
