we try to get the material for our lasersaur at local supplier, but we are not sure which polycarbonate sheet we should order.
Is there a polycarbonate sheet which blocks the diffusion of the laserbeam?

thanks for help
Markus

Polycarbonate sheets are typically opaque at CO2/10600nm wavelength.
Even the clear one usually blocks sufficiently. Still it's certainly a
good idea to run some tests to be certain as I am not sure if there are
variants that don't work.

I was wondering if even if 100% of the 10600nm was absorbed, would you have to worry about incident light such as UV and visible light that seems like must exist from the actual cutting flame?

Hey Guys-

What are people using for Air Assist compressors / regulators??

Can anyone make suggestions for air flow volume / pressure requirements?

Thanks,

thank you

Most small compressors will work. If it doesn't have a regulator I can
point you to some Misumi parts. The pressure for cutting is usually
within 0.5-3 bar and flow rate is relatively low. Larger compressors are
nice because they don't have to run all the time. Noise considerations
are worthwhile because compressors are generally really loud. Having the
compressor in a separate room is a nice luxury.

Hi Markus, I've just posted about the MechParts. We will be offering the
parts in aluminum.

Alternatively you can use Acrylic GS, 6mm.

True, there is some secondary radiation that can be a problem when
watching the cutting point too long. Tinted polycarbonate is therefore
preferred. But even then one should not watch too long.
