Hi All
I am having problems with the x axis on my Lasersaur. The motor sounds awful and rotates back and forth randomly making the machine useless. I have swapped out both the driver and the motor, but it makes no difference. Am I right in assuming it could now only be a poor connection, or the driverboard gone bad?
Thanks for any advice
Cheers

So I have swapped over the stepper drivers, the motors, tried a different wire and swapped the cables from the driveboard.  When I swapped the cables connecting the motors to the driveboard the fault showed up  on the y axis instead of the x.
I think it must be the driveboard.  Am I right, do they go? I've only had it a couple of years.
What options do I have to replace it? I looked on the BOM and could only see a solder it yourself option and I'm not prepared to do that.  Does this Smoothie board require a total rewire? Can I use the same motors and sensors?
Sorry for all the questions
Thanks
Aaron
