Pretty common these days for the dish to be full. If you can clean up old files it may address a wide range of strange issues.

Right, there's nothing that cleans up the old log files and such so the
disk fills up.
Easy to find and remove by hand.

Forgive my ignorance, I am rather not good with the software side.
Would this be something I ssh into the BBB and then navigate to a directory and delete from there?

doing this from memory...
ssh in as root, go to the .lasersaur directory and look for a directory
with a name like "logs". Delete all the files in that directory then
reboot.

now that I'm at my lasersaur...
It's not log files that fill up your drive, it's cut files.
You might have the same problem as me -- using a wee tiny SD card on
your BBB
root@lasersaur:~# df -kh .
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mmcblk0p2 1.7G 1.3G 242M 85% /
242M isn't much space if you think about years of cut files. I still
have the old lasersaupp installed as a backup and now run driveboardapp.
root@lasersaur:~# du -skh .lasaurapp/
2.7M .lasaurapp/
root@lasersaur:~# du -skh .driveboardapp/
4.9M .driveboardapp/
