[png attached - I did it in GIMP, should I make a habit of including the .xcf in addition? right now it's not any additional information]
The things on the outside of the cake will be continents/oceans. (I'm undecided if I should draw the specific Earth continents or not.) The layers inside are the crust/mantle/core. I'll label them (won't be visible at most scales, but we can use a bigger version as the background for the .dmg and
other stuff like that.)
The stuff with the laser above is the machinery that's moving it around to make the cut.
