Not a problem will be returning to the shop this
evening and wil get the dimensions and weights for you.
As for sending a CNC kit... I agree although we
would love to build the fuse for you.. LOL
As well with a CNC kit what will make it easier is
to package all contents into one tube and ship as one package to save in
shipping and possible loss of one package.
It reduces your cost as well.
Tube would approx be 6" in diameter and
all structural tubing can be safely packaged into it with no
problems.
Do not have a BOM but plans will dictate and will
provide all info required for construction of the aircraft.
The 2300 has shown a lot of interest and has been a
work in progress.. we really weren't planning on selling kits to this fall in
actuallity yet Don Fairchild has prompted us to "HURRY UP" so to speak.
LOL
Things are going very well now for the designs and
Tom Edwards
"TEE BIRD ENTERPRISES" now is progressing well with
wing kits and cutting the parts out for the kits.
Our customers / builders are what will assist
in the 2300's future as well!!!
We need people building / discussing / and telling
us what needs to be done to make a better affordable airplane that will be known
out there
It has taken us 5 yrs now to get to this stage and
with loyal customers like yourself we will be able to make this aircraft a
reality for alot of folks out there.
With the addition of Heintje and the website and
additional info he just added onto the google group it shows our capabilities
and progression of a kit.. We would like to see this from other builders.
Keep up the good work all and your continued
support in the Laser developments and design and kits already
underway!!!

Devin,
Realistically a CNC kit in box will be the way to go I
think. You could probably send the crossers etc in a small box and the then
the longerons seperately. Not sure would be the cheapest but I have a few
contacts freight wise also. The weight shouldn't be too extreme should it?
The dead weight on a fuse would make
freight a killer. I'll talk to my welder and see what he thinks. He might not
want to weld a whole fuse up.
So
basically, if you can quote freight for the cut kit or give me the packaged
dimensions, I'll pretty much order one of those straight up.
I should be able to take care of
the smaller pieces here, so when you have the plans ready let me know and I'll
get the rest of the plans I need.
Do
you have a BOM (materials list)? Obviously the plans will cover stick and
pedal positions but what info do you have for things like airspeed/pitot
installation etc or is this all to the builders requirements etc? Fuel tank
construction and location would be another aspect info would be required on.
If you have a BOM, I can see what I
can source here (the prices are crazy though - we pay at least 3-4 times the
equivelant USD), or start buying OS.
Thanks

Not a problem
I will put together
some info here and send another email to you.
Just away from the shop for 3
days " long weekend here in Canada and I need a break... LOL" but welding all
weekend.. They tell me its a birth defect ... LOL
Will get the weight of the
CNC cut kit in a box and dimensions for both a fully welded fuse assy and a
kit in a box dimensions.
As for the plans.
We do have preliminary construction dwgs yet I would like to just finish them
off to a better completion. All in all with wing plans etc we will be selling
for around $300 USD
For partial stuff like
the tail group and engine mount and torque tube and pedals etc. More than
likely will have ready to send out in 3-4 weeks.
And if willing to commit
either way to a cnc cut kit or fuse assy I will send these for $100 to you so
you can begin assy.
CNC cut kits can be cut in approx 3 days time ready to ship. They come
with the fuse assy plans to complete the welding assy of all structural
tubing.
As for standoffs etc we haven't
come up with a formal set of plans yet will be completing soon as well.
This is the route Don Fairchild has taken and he
is incorporating stuff as we come out with it.
Let me know your
thoughts?
Obviously a tube kit in a box can
be at your day via air in approx 1-2 weeks if ordered and you can begin the
process.
As for Canopy it is provided by
Todds Canopies and is the same as used on an EA-300

Devin,
Can you please give me the both sizes and the weight for the
following (crated) so I can work out freighting and welding here etc? I can
then talk to Chris and see when (I think you said 5-6 months) he is bringing
his over and organise something.
- Welded Fuselage.
- CNC kit in a box.
What sort of price would you be looking at for the
plans for the v stab, tailplane and other bits and pieces that I could get
started on now?
Do you have a Bill Of Materials with a list of places to
buy (ie canopie from Todd's canopies.)?
Thanks for you help.
I've registered on the
forum so hopefully I can pick up some info etc.
Thanks

Yes we are!!
Good talking to you!
Below you will find the email
address for both
Don Fairchild: A Laser Z-2300 builder in Alabama USA.
He purchased our CNC tube kit in the box. And since has finished the welding
of the kit. He built the tail assembly from dwgs provided which we will be
completly redrawing for sale to builders so they can scratch build from the
plans... See attached for a picture of his fuselage assy.
Chris Hamilton: A
customer you might want to contact via email if interested in sharing shipping
costs in the spring. We will be sending his S-1-11B fuse assy / Engine mount
and wing components to him.
Let us know how we can assist and look fwd to working
with you on the future!!
