Good day,
Looking for advice on laser jigging for the wing build. I've talked to a few different people about building a wood wing and they are all saying the used last levels to ensure straightness for alignment and twist. Looking for drawings or a diagram to help me wrap my brain around it a bit better. When I get closer to building the wing, if I haven't gotten any responses I will try to call Devon, and see if he can get something to me. Hope to hear from you guys! ThanksMark

I started with nose ribs
Leveled spar in both directions with nose rib side up (a GOOD quality digital level is good for this)
Ran trammel  strings above spar center line  - 2 strings due to taper of spar.
Then plumb bobs at each rib location to verify trammel string is in correct location
Mark rib chord centerlines
I made a clamping jig to keep ribs perpendicular to spar

During clamping / epoxying stage I shortened plumb bob to reach front edge of  rib to verify there was no droop or lift in the rib placement.
For aft ribs I did the same only had to have a clamp jig that accounted for the taper of the spar.
I don't have any photos, but can sketch something if you wish.

Doug,
Hey thanks for the reply, I appreciate it! I think I understand how your describing it. When it gets to that point I may get in contact with you, to run through it one more time to be sure I got it right.
Did you build your own spar and ribs? I'm in the middle of trying to "digitize" the ribs from the plans so I can cut them out on the Cnc wood router I just finished building.
Mark
