NOTEEndNote 20 is no longer available for download at McMaster, but if you already have it installed, you can continue to use this version if you prefer and receive software updates from Clarivate. You can also upgrade to EndNote 21 using the download link below.

Using an earlier version of EndNote desktop (e.g., 20, X9)?

Clarivate suggests backing up data from previous versions of EndNote and uninstalling the previous version before installing the new version. Consult the relevant articles below for more information.

What happens to EndNote when I leave McMaster?

Your access to EndNote desktop will continue, but software updates and upgrades will no longer be available once you leave McMaster. To keep current, a new license for EndNote desktop would need to be acquired through your new institution or purchased independently.

EndNote web is the new, exclusive web component for EndNote 21 users. Previous versions of EndNote (20, X9, etc.) can only use EndNote online as the web component. EndNote web & EndNote online allow you to access the contents of your EndNote library from any device with an internet connection, synchronize references between devices and share your research with colleagues.

Once you have downloaded EndNote desktop, you can use the Find Full Text feature to import PDFs for your references. You will be asked to authenticate your access (Ma...@mcmaster.ca required).

Once the above settings have been saved, using the Find Full Text feature should automatically import to EndNote any full-text PDF documents available through McMaster University Libraries or otherwise freely available.

NOTE: EndNote may not be able to download all PDFs that McMaster has access to because of technical issues or because the publisher has chosen not to allow their data to be accessed through the Find Full Text feature (e.g., Elsevier does not allow PDFs, only URLs).

This is likely because you have a pop-up blocker installed in your Internet browser. You can correct this problem by either of the following fixes. NOTE: Using either of the options above should allow PubMed to open. If you still are unable to access PubMed, please contact us at helsebib...@mcmasterhkr.com.

This is likely because HTML is not enabled in your email program. If you do not know how to enable HTML in your email client, please contact us at helsebib...@mcmasterhkr.com and let us know the email program and version you are using and we will attempt to assist.

The Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS) can be used to cite sources in any faculty or subject. The most recent version is the 17th edition. Chicago style can be applied in two different ways, the Author-Date style, and the Notes-Bibliography style. This guide will focus on the Notes-Bibliography style.

Notes are formatted by placing a superscripted number in the text each time you reference a source. Each superscript corresponds to either an endnote or footnote with the citation information for that source.

Endnotes are placed at the end of your paper. Footnotes are placed at the end of each page. Either is acceptable. The first time you reference a specific source in your paper, the corresponding note should contain the full citation information. Each time you refer to the same source after that, you can include a shortened note instead.

This guide contains some selected examples of business-related citations in Chicago style. For further information on using CMOS 17th edition, including examples of other source types, please see the resources linked below.

Well, it finally happened, the last concert, Artisan is nomore - at least not as a regularly gigging trio - but there are still CDs to buy and theDVD of the final concert is a fantastic memento of Artisan live. It's got great sound and we're delighted to say that we didn't break the camera lenses, so it looks good too.

People ask us why we decided to quit and move on. There's nothingcomplicated to the decision... Twenty years is a long time and we reckoned ourtwentieth year was a good time to finish on a high. We all moved forward to other projects.

We had a ball at the last gigs, especially - as you can imagine - on theSunday. People kept asking whether we felt sad and whether we were going tomanage to get through the concert without breaking out in floods of blubbing, but truth to tell, though the audience admitted to a bit of blubbing themselves,we were all fine. I guess the mechanics of organising the concerts and the DVDfilming was taking up the portion of our mind reserved for dwelling on theoccasion. We had such a good time seeing all our friends there that it was likea great big party and send-off combined.

We'd particularly like to thank all those people who travelled so far tosee us. The furthest travellers came from Seattle, USA (though that was a bit ofa cheat as our friends William and Felicia were coming over anyway, so they justcame over a week early). Our UK fans travelled down from Scotland (the furthestbeing Aberdeen) and from Northumberland and Durham. Some came up from Devon,Somerset, Kent, Hampshire, Cambridgeshire, the West Midlands and many fromcounties much closer to home.

And do we feel sad now that it's all over? 'Sad' is not theright word. Privileged describes it better. Privileged to have been part ofsomething like Artisan with so many good friends and fans on both sides of theAtlantic and Australia too. We're proud of our achievements and hope you allcontinue to enjoy our music, because while CDs and DVDs exist Artisan is stillout there somewhere.

We have lots of thank yous to venue managers, festival artisticdirectors and folk club and concert organisers. It wouldn't be possible to listeveryone - but we thank you all. Without you we couldn't have done all we havedone. To audiences we say a huge thank you because without you this would allhave been... a rehearsal. We're going to name one name, though, as we have anenormous thank-you to Phil Vickers of AVLS, our sound man of choice and friendfor so many years. He's toured with us for Christmas Shows, done sound for us atspecial events and festivals and definitely been 'our rock in shifting sands.'Though every gig has been different the quality of Phil's sound has been aconstant, as has his unfailingly calm and reassuring personality, sprinkledliberally with a good dollop of Yorkshire humour.

Hilary continues to perform as half of the duo QuickSilver with GrantBaynham - with voices and guitar performing an eclectic mix of songs alongsideGrant's own amazing compositions. You can keep up to speedwith her goings on by visiting www.hilaryspencer.com

Brian now runs his Park HeadStudio. He's concentrating onother people's recording projects. Details of Brian's studio are available atwww.parkheadstudio.co.uk and we'd be delighted for Artisan supporters to comeand record with us.
