Here is the info on the dendro fieldweek. This is how I was introduced to dendrochronology and it is a very good and quick way to get a solid understanding.
Also, the Valles Caldera NP is a pretty cool area!

Good evening ITRDB,
I would like to take this second opportunity to announce that information regarding the 22nd Annual North American Dendroecological Fieldweek is now available. As many of you know the fieldweek has been providing training for those interested in tree ring analysis since 1990. The 22nd iteration will be held at the Valles Caldera National Preserve, Science and Education Center near Jemez Springs, NM from May 28 - June 5, 2012. A list of the group leaders and additional information can be found on the above linked flyer and registration form. The website for the NADEF will be updated shortly. In the meantime please feel free to distribute this information to others who may be interested. If you have any questions regarding the upcoming fieldweek please feel free to contact any of the NADEF organizers.
Have a wonderful week,
Chris Gentry
