I happened to check with the UPA via phone re: Fast Larry's UPA
stats. FL is not the 35th ranked player in the world, never was. At
the end of 2006, he was ranked 60th with 20 points. This basically
means, according to UPA rep Sherry Pouncey, he never won a match. He
is unranked in 2007. Ms. Pouncy went thru the tour stats for 2005
and
2006 and confirmed Fast Larry Gunninger has never won a match in a
UPA
sponsored event...she did confirm though that his 20 points (compared
to the 200-300 of the real players) were awarded as a result of 3
bye's and 1 forfeit (his opponent never arrived to the tourney
because
of travel problems). So, there's the legend of world champion pro
Fast Larry Gunninger.
