Will Tony Blair Start a War in the Philippines?
March 23 (LPAC) -- Tony Blair, having successfully unleashed genocidal wars in Iraq (letting the Americans do the dirty work)
and more recently in Gaza (letting the Israelis commit the genocide this time), is now spending some of his spare time seeing what he can get going with the Islamic insurgency in Mindanao, the southern province in the Philippines. President
Gloria Macapagal Arroyo invited the fascist war-hawk to the Philippines and invited him to be an "advisor to the peace process" in Mindanao, supposedly because of his experience as the Quartet's representative to the Israel-Palestine peace process.
However, Blair exposed his hand in a speech he gave at the Jesuit Ateneo University in Manila today, when asked about his role in intitiating the Iraq war. Blair told the students that they must look at the "larger point" about the Mideast crisis.
"There is essentially one battle going on, and it is a battle about Islam," he said. There are "two elements in Islam - one which wants to work with the West, and one that does not," said Blair, and therefore we must "partner with the modernizing and
moderate element. We gotta make sure those guys win." Blair, and his controlled thug Cheney, have for years been trying to set Islam against itself in this imperial manner, by turning Egypt, Jordan, the Emirates and the Saudis against Iran,
Hamas and Hezbollah, and in general the Sunnis against the Shi'a. Blair, while supposedly assigned to facilitate peace negotiations on behalf of the Quartet, was directly instrumental in unleashing the Israeli Nazi assault on Gaza, just as sane elements within
Israel were on the brink of signing an agreement with Syria which could have moved the peace process forward significantly. A Philippines Presidential spokesperson said: "The President is confident that Tony Blair, with all his experience, can
contribute a lot to resolving our peace and order problems in Mindanao." Is the Arroyo government so ignorant of Blair's role in British Imperial policy that they could allow him access to the volatile crisis in Mindanao? [mob]
