Who Was Himie Voxman?
Voxman Selected Studies Trumpet Pdf Freel is named after its editor, Himie Voxman, who was a prominent figure in the American music education scene. Himie Voxman was born in 1912 in Iowa, to Jewish Ukrainian immigrants. He started playing the clarinet at the age of 13 and later studied chemical engineering and psychology of music at the University of Iowa. He joined the faculty of the University of Iowa School of Music in 1939 and became its director in 1954. He retired in 1980 and died in 2011 at the age of 99.
