Dear Clavertonians,
I am one of the creators of enipedia.org - an energy information
platform. Besides the daily activities of "information gardening"
(collecting, reviewing, editing, etc) we have a tradition of coming up
with nice visualization using our data.
A while back we posted a movie of German PV installations
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tb7HLk9QlM) and some of you made good
use of that.
Today I would like to present a birds-eye view of power generation. We
have put more than 14000 power plants on a world map - and its an
awesome picture.
Please find a small snapshot here:

For the full browse'able and navigable map see here:
http://enipedia.org/kml/enipedia-power-plants.kml (you will need
Google Earth - http://www.google.com/earth/index.html - to see that).
From Google Earth you can click on each power plant to find more info
on its operation (power generation, emissions, fuels, owners, etc).
Also if you find Enipedia useful, worthwhile or entertaining - you can
support us by voting at TU Delft's innovation contest here:

Best regards,
Alfredas
