The New King James Version (NKJV) remains deeply rooted in the KJV, but has been significantly updated from modern readers by a team of biblical scholars and linguists working directly from the biblical manuscripts.
I love this Bible! The print is large enough my eyes don't strain, the cover is very soft and just feels good to hold. My study Bible weighs in at almost 5 pounds so I don't like to lug that to church and Bible study classes. This is perfect for that!

I had been reading the regular size Great Adventure Bible for about a year. It is great, but the print is small, especially when reading to a group. I got the enlarged version recently. It is much easier to read. The pages seem to track to the original, just bigger. On the con side, it is bigger and heavier, but not overly so. It just fits in my Pattern 1937 Officer's Valise that I used with the original version.
I'm just starting the journey of reading the bible. This is the 3rd and final bible I will buy. Just like Goldilocks, The first was too difficult to read, the second was too simplistic. This Great Adventure Bible is JUST RIGHT!
I love everything about this Bible but it is not large print. It is about the same size as all my other Bibles. So sad. I have the Catholic Guide To The Old Testament by Ascension press and that printing is actually better. Bad advertising.
Love this Bible! Very pleased with it. It has a nice-sized readable print font, and a durable, comfortable cover and binding. I was concerned that it would be bulky for carrying to church since it is a full Catholic Bible with large print, but it's a perfect size. It's about the same size and thickness of most standard print Bibles or non-Catholic Bibles! Also the pages seem to be slightly thicker and more sturdy than some Bible pages I have seen. I was also happily surprised to see features such as Bible reading plans, a guide to praying with the Bible and an abbreviated ("concise") glossary/concordance, as well as a few maps. It's a very good "everyday" , go-anywhere, basic Bible at a great price.
I bought this Bible for a friend who is new to the Catholic faith. It is a beautiful Bible. The soft cover, gold page edges and colorful illustrations make it very special. I might have to order one for myself!

The Revised Standard Version of the Bible is acclaimed by many as the clearest, most accurate and most beautiful modern translation of the Bible. This newly designed and typeset 2nd edition of the popular Ignatius RSV Catholic Bible is a contemporary English translation that revises archaic language of the first edition, but avoids dumbing-down the text. It retains the beauty of the RSV language that makes the Ignatius Bible such a joy to read. Now the only contemporary Catholic Bible translation in standard English is even more beautiful in word and design, and much easier to read with the large print!
The Large Print Edition is the perfect option for devotional reading for those who prefer larger print, have impaired vision, or are reading from a lectern. It features large, clear type and additional materials of interest to all readers.
In the Sierra Madre region of Mexico, strong and bold dahlias grow freely. As I designed this Bible, I pondered the strength and steadfastness of God's love, and I immediately thought of the dahlia. The beauty of a dahlia is breathtaking, and they grow strong, thick stems with deep roots to support their heavy blooms.
The ESV Single Column Journaling Bible, Large Print features the same high-quality Bible paper and two-inch ruled margins as the original ESV Single Column Journaling Bible, but now with larger, 9.5-point type. This new edition is perfect for those seeking a large-print Bible with plenty of space for notes, prayers, reflections, or artwork.
I can freely mark in my Bible without worrying about the ink bleeding through. And the Bible is absolutely beautiful I genuinely am encouraged to open it and study Gods word every time I see it ? I even got the matching notebook. I absolutely love it.
The book measures in at almost exactly 9 by 6 in., with a thickness of 1 in. For comparison purposes, the size is comparable to the Great Adventure Catholic Bible, though just a hair thinner. It would easily fit in a backpack, computer bag, satchel, etc., unlike some of the large-print editions available from other publishers such as Loreto or Baronius.
Hi Father,
I have to agree in that I have found my sweet spot for devotional reading in a 1950 DR- Confraternity Bible from PJ Kennedy and sons edition. The physical size of the volume, the text layout and binding is perfect for me.
Personally, I just settled on an original 1965 Oxford Annotated Bible, because it got an imprimatur before there was ever an RSV-CE and the New Oxford Annotated was really the only study bible that ever really worked for me. This way, I get my to have my Catholic Bible cake and eat the Oxford Annotated too. ?
Now, the full Bible is out, currently in giant type editions with several different types of bindings. A look on their site gives one a comprehensive view of all of the bindings available at the moment:

Smyth Sewn bindings use thread to sew through folded signatures of a book. Signatures are made by printing on large sheets and then folding into groups of pages, usually 16 or 24 at a time. Each signature is sewn individually with threads going through each page several times. The threads are then tied off. All of the signatures are likewise attached together with thread creating what is called the book block. The book block is further strengthened using flannel and adhesive on the spine.

1. The translation: Some people prefer CSB because of its clarity, while others believe KJV. Many people think NLT is a better choice. Choosing the Bible translation which is right for you is important.
