Hey LARE people! I passed Section 3 in September so figured I’d share my notes here because I feel like the exam was unnecessarily difficult for a multiple-choice test on design. I was actually shocked by how difficult it was compared to Sections 1 and 2, even after reading posts in this group about how difficult Section 3 was. The graphic questions were A LOT more complex/time-consuming than I anticipated and trickier than any of the practice vignettes.
I do feel like a lot of this test is just about reasoning, deciphering what CLARB means, thinking about how the question relates to health/safety, and making your educated guess.
I used the test-taking strategy I read about in this group of going through the exam and answering all the multiple-choice questions first and flagging all of the graphic questions. This took me about 2 hours. Then I went through and answered all the graphic/vignette questions, which took about 1 hour. Then I had ~30 minutes remaining to review all the other flagged questions I was unsure about and turned the test in with like 60 seconds remaining. I highly recommend taking the test this way.
