Material and sample tests:
The CLARB website stinks; they used to provide sample tests for purchase, but they stopped. After you read through the material, do as many practice exams as you can. This will help you detect which information you need to brush up on. Remember, this is testing you on
LARE information, try not to think about good design, only what the
LARE wants you to know (counter intuitive, I know).
- For sample exams, I highly suggest buying all of the PPI sample test booklets.
- Stay away from Shake N Bake exams. MUCH of this material is incorrect, and it will steer you in the wrong direction. for serious.
- the ProPrefs exams are pretty good, but you cannot print them out- and the link expires after like, 60 days or something. but they are cheap and worth it
- Utilize your local library system if you don't have a text book. for instance, for exam 2, I didnt have like, 4 text books, and didnt want to shell out 600$. I went through the CA library stystem, and it was able to access books from all over the state, I had rented many from Universities. Totally worth looking into. Specifically, the LaGro book was enormously helpful for Section 2.
