I took Section 3 at a PSI testing location last week.  For the drag and drop style questions, when I would drag a possible answer to the plan, a button would pop up that said “Rotate?” If I clicked the button, I could then type in the degree I wanted to rotate the object.  I thought the rule of thumb was that we would never need to rotate items but now I’m not seeing that stated anywhere specifically from Clarb.  I took this section previously back in December of 2021 and didn’t have this issue – granted that was before they switched to PSI.  Did I miss a statement somewhere that we now may need to rotate objects or was this a software error? Anyone else have this issue?  Also, I don’t think posting this is breaking any rules about sharing test info, but I will certainly delete it if someone feels otherwise so just let me know.

I used the 'rotate' function, since I feel one or two of them must rotate to make it more sense...

After taking another look at the orientation guide, I found this (see below).  We should not be rotating items, so why is the software asking us if we want to rotate them?

Q&As About Exam Items
Q. How will I be tested on orientation of elements in a drag and place item?
A. The elements in a drag and place item cannot be manipulated in any way. To test on orientation, you would have multiple elements in different orientation and would need to select the appropriate element and place it on the site (i.e., one tennis court oriented N/S and one oriented E/W).

Per the orientation guide -- you do not need to rotate items in the exam -- if orientation is being tested you will be provided the appropriate orientation as one of the answer options.

Hi all, I just called CLARB since many candidates are asking me this question as well. CLARB says DO NOT ROTATE elements.

I consider this another  unintended consequence of the format change - it is confusing for sure. My advice is generally to be conservative with LARE since CLARB seems to have limited resources to update/beta test these things.
