Relationship of Schematic Design Phase and Concept Design?

I was wondering if anyone could help me better understand the relationship between the schematic design phase and concept design? I know concept designs are developed during schematic design phase, but I was wondering if there anyone could help provide more details about the relationship and maybe a good reference that defines it?
