P&D SGLA study material vs LAREPrep or CLARB

I'm going through the SGLA material for the Planning & Design test and the context is soooo different from LARE Prep and the CLARB practice test. It seems like the previous Planning and Design test used to emphasis specific dimensions and making up your own plans for a project from scratch or something? Should I focus on the SGLA material or no?

Rachel, I’m not familiar with the SGLA material but to me, the CLARB practice test and LARE PREP content were helpful for the Planning and Design section this April. I did feel like thoroughly understanding the different variations of plans and the master planning process was beneficial - and those were covered more thoroughly in prep for inventory and analysis.  With the new unit less question set, there were not questions looking for math, but the CLARB tests helped me answer the advanced question types.

Hi Susan, thank you for the answer. I plan to do P&D this December. And I heard P&D could be very tricky.... Could you share your study experience on PD session. Like did you read the books a lot or you mainly reply on the LAREPREP study guide? Thank you!

I just took P&D. I’d say LarePrep does a good job of going over the base material. There are some things it missed on my test. I used it for section 4 last year along with the two practice tests they offer and passed. I found the lareprep tests harder for that section.

Sorry to piggyback on this thread, I am planning on taking the P&D test in December and am wondering if either of you have PDF resources for the following books? I have 2/5 CLARB listed as reading material , but looking for :

- Landscape Architectural Graphic Standards

- Landscape Architecture Documentation Standards

- Sustainable Stormwater Management
