Change resource folder to app

Is it possible to change resources/ folder, from outside to inside app/ folder?

If so, how to achieve this?

That folder is hard-coded in several places.

Also, app is supposed to be a PSR-4 autoloaded directory, so having resources/ in there does not really make sense.
