FusionCharts XT is our flagship product that consists of 50+ chart types like Line, Area, Column, Bar and more. A perfect addition to your reports, dashboards, surveys, monitors and analytics. Click on a chart to see it in action.

I'm new to Fusioncharts, but I populate the chart from the dB and do now how many fileds I will receive. I just want to set a common color on all the columns and don't get the default random colors I get now, how can I get that?

So question: if I'm trying to disable gradients in chart by using plotGradientColor='', but I'm wanting to pass that in the SetChartParams method, it doesn't work (because we're not supposed to use single or double quotes in the parameter).

So I decided to see what the differences were between the UpdatePanel sample found in Code/CS/UpdatePanel and what I have in my application so that I could debug the problem. It turns out that it doesn't seem to work even in the sample application that I downloaded from FusionCharts. I get the same exact problem: the chart displays fine at first but when you click on one of the radiobuttonlists on Sample1.aspx (Factory 2, for instance), the chart disappears.

Does anyone have any reason to think that 3.2.1 works with an UpdatePanel and PostBack? If it doesn't, then I need to roll back to the previous version since we use the chart almost exclusively in UpdatePanels.

Are there any updates on this? I need to make a decision as to whether to roll back my updates to 3.2.1. Are you able to get the PostBacks in UpdatePanels working in your lab? If so, what is your configuration? What version of the AjaxControlToolkit are you using?

The update panel samples works in our labs. You might need to change the web.config given in our pack to support AJAX controls since the samples were built using ASP.NET 2 where AJAX Controls needed to be installed separately.

However, you can also check the attached sample built in ASP.NET 4. The sample are better with respect to the fix provided for issue which cropped when RenderChart is used in POSTBACK. Now, we are using jQuery here to take care of this. Also placed the modified source of FusionCharts.dll (FusionCharts.cs in APP_CODE folder) which has better management of chart ids when rendered and some memory management when charts are updated.

This download does not contain Sample1.aspx, which is the scenario that I'm trying to implement. Nevertheless, I added Sample1 to this new project from the other download. At first, I got the same problem but when I added the JsScript.js in the scripts block of the ScriptManager AND exclusively use RenderChart rather than RenderChart on the first page load and RenderChartHTML on postbacks, it works, but it does not work when I use RenderChart on the first page load and RenderChartHtml on postbacks. Is this by design? Are we supposed to still use RenderChartHtml on postbacks? If so, then there still seems to be a problem but if it is designed to only use RenderChart, then it seems ok but I don't want to use it incorrectly. "Sample2" only uses RenderChart.

Thanks for your help Sudipto. I did not know that Default.aspx was the same as Sample1.aspx because I thought that the file names were the same due to the fact that the others were the same. It appears that this has fixed our issue and I do appreicate it. We do now have another javascript issue related to the introduction of JScript.js but I think we can fix that ourselves.

I created a multi page site for the internal use of my employer that has at least one chart on each page. I used Meteor to create the page. When it was a one page site with one chart fusioncharts would open right away and the charts were reactive as the xml file driving the chart changed, the chart would refresh. When I went to a multi page site, I lost the reactivity and the charts would never initiate on the first time opening a page. After you clicked to the page again or even a different page with a chart on it, fusioncharts would start. From then on you can click on a fusion charts page and it will open properly. When the xml files change however, the chart disappears and you have to open it twice again for it to reappear. When I look at the console I see this output:

I have googled around trying to figure these messages out with no luck. I dont know if these messages have anything to do with fusioncharts behavior described above, but i think it is a good place to start. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

It seems like all the library files are not loaded properly before the charts are rendered please make sure that fusioncharts.js and other library files are loaded properly before the charts are rendered.

That did correct some of the behavior. I no longer have to click anything twice before fusioncharts loads. Thank you for that. I still need to figure out the reactivity issues. I used the xmlurl method to implement the charts and when those underlying xml files change the website does rebuild but fusioncharts doesnt reload for some reason. I still have those same error messages.

This is an internal site so I am struggling to see how can I give you a live link to use. I dont think fiddles will work because I dont think fiddles allow you to use the xmlurl method with a file in your public folder. Do you have a suggestion how I can do that?

Ayan, Thank you so much for your help on this issue. It has been resolved. I switched routing packages in Meteor to Flow-Router from Iron Router and that fixed it. While Meteor is full stack reactive, Iron Router doesnt like to rerender anything if it doesnt have to.

I was using FusionCharts to build some charts. Now that i know how to integrate it using npm I want to upgrade to a commercial license for my client. I didn't see any documentation specific to npm version. The documentation on official website points to Fusion charts npm installation but there is no mention of how to upgrade to licensed version.

What gives ? It looks like the same old Flash dependant charts. I havent setup the Jasper Server part yet, but it doesnt make much sense to build the reports with Flash output and then publish them and change the output.

In the upcoming release of v.3.2.2, we have replicated almost all the charts in JavaScript, and they all look as stunning as the Flash charts. This version too has automatic JavaScript fallback, and the developer doesn't have to do anything extra to make the charts work on iOS devices.

FusionCharts, part of InfoSoft Global (P) Ltd, is a privately held software provider of data visualization products (JavaScript Charts, Maps, Widgets and Dashboards) with offices in Bangalore and Kolkata, India. FusionCharts has over 23,000 customers and 500,000 users in over 110 countries, including users such as Apple, Google, ZOHO, Cisco, Facebook, Intel, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, EMC, Nokia, Tibco, as well as The Weather Channel, NASA, and the Federal Government of the United States.[3][4][5] It is a completely bootstrapped company.

The idea behind FusionCharts was born in 2001 when 16-year-old Pallav Nadhani found himself dissatisfied with Microsoft Excel's charting capabilities while using the program to complete high school class assignments. Nadhani subsequently authored an article on Wrox Press's ASPToday.com technology website which examined the thesis that Macromedia Flash, then used mainly for web banners and pop-up ad, could be used to build an interactive charting solution for business applications such as dashboards and reports. The article earned him $1,500 and feedback from developers, which together acted as seed money and motivation for establishing the FusionCharts concept.[1][7]

By 2009, the company had moved to Salt Lake City, Kolkata, and had grown to over 50 employees. Since arriving in Salt Lake, the staff has expanded by 250 percent of its original size, and in 2011 FusionCharts opened their second office in Bangalore.[8]

FusionCharts' client list, with customers across 118 countries and numerous business sectors, has drawn significant attention. The company was placed squarely on the global platform following its 2010 selection by US President Barack Obama to design the digital dashboards for the federal administration, the Federal IT Dashboard. FusionCharts was the first Indian startup to gain the attention of the Obama administration.[1]

Pallav Nadhani's original ASPToday.com article called for creating a charting library using Flash, combined with ASP to power it with data. Developers responded positively and shared ideas on how to increase its power and functionality. Subsequently, Pallav coded this idea into a charting application, which led to the birth of the FusionCharts software.[12]

FusionCharts has since transitioned to use JavaScript, SVG and VML to render charts, widgets and maps. This allows its components to be used on all mobile devices and cross-platform browsers. It does allow for optional rendering using Flash. FusionCharts Suite XT can today be used with any web scripting language to deliver interactive and powerful charts. Using XML and JSON as its data interfaces, FusionCharts Suite XT makes full use of HTML 5 technologies to create compact, interactive, and visually-arresting charts.[13][14]

In 2009, the company was included in the NASSCOM EMERGE 50 Leaders for 2009 due to its success in establishing its data visualization software globally.[1][11] In the same year it was also awarded the Deloitte Technology Fast50 India award in 2009.[1][17][18]
