The first day you use it, the Arduino was recognized by my laptop assigning COM3 and everything worked well, but the next day (yesterday) did not recognize, the classic sound when you connect a device via USB will not be heard and the IDE on the part of ports you can not select this.

When I bought my clone mega2560 windows 7 didn't recognized it at all but after 2 days of searching I found a solution.Install the file I have attached....it's some kind of problem with USB to serial connection or something I'm not sure and the drivers provided by arduino don't work.Maybe it will fix your problem too.

If it's a real Arduino Mega (so with another ATmega16u2 as USB Serial converter on it) then change is you might have corrupted the program in that other ATmega16u2. You can try to burn the program into that again but you need a programer or another Arduino to act as a programmer.

I am having issues installing the driver for the Arduino Mega 2560 on Windows 7 64-bit using Arduino 0022 software. The driver installs, but during the installation process, I get an error message saying that the device could not be started. When I go to the device manager, I see the Arduino Mega 2560 in the Device manager, but there is a yellow exclamation mark by it, and when I look at its Properties, there is an error "This device cannot start" (code 10). It is using COM port 6 on my machine, and that COM port is available. I tried switching com ports, but no luck. I still get the same error. Has anyone had any luck getting these drivers to work in Windows 7 x64?

i haven't used the mega, only the uno. but to me it sounds like an issue with the arduino, not your PC. Make sure when you try to install you select the drivers folder, not the USB...blah...blah...blah folder in it. As well try opening up the arduino software on your PC and select the Mega board as the one your using, i doubt it would make a difference in install but you never know.

Yeah, I believe I am using the right inf file. It's not the FTDI USB drivers, it's the mega 2560 inf file. I can select the mega board in the arduino software, but the port it's supposed to be on is not available. Has anyone successfully installed the mega 2560 drivers with Windows 7 x64?

What if you go in the Device Manager and try to update the drivers? It may give you a more informative error message, if nothing else. Can you try the board on a different computer / operating system to make sure the hardware is okay?

Surprisingly, the drivers welshde posted worked. I can't explain why, because I understand that the FTDI chip is not used in this board. It works, and that's all that matters, but I am curious as to why and how this works.

mellis, prior to trying the drivers welshde posted, I had gone through the steps you described multiple times, and I still ended up with the "Device cannot be started" error message. And the hardware worked fine on a Windows XP 32-bit box.

So it's really odd that this works, but I guess for anyone else having this issue, I would suggest trying the FTDI drivers, and see what happens. Worst case scenario, it doesn't work, and you are still stuck with the same problem, but best case scenario, like in my case, it does work and solves my problem.

I went to C:\Users\[MyUsernname]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge to search for Mega temporary download folder to make sure temporary files is deleted after InPrivate windows crashed/closed but I couldnt find anything, also Edge doesnt even have folder "File System" like Chrome.

What concerns me is where to find Mega's temporary download folder when using Edge. And do those files automatically get deleted when InPrivate windows get closed/ crashed ?

In case of Chrome, I can trace the folder with this location C:\Users\PC\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\File System\080 . The problem is that Edge doens't have \File System\080

I also encountered this issue. There seems to be an issue with Edge and files from MEGA that are greater than 1 GB. I encountered crashes multiple times in InPrivate mode when downloading a 1.24 GB file. Always crashed shortly after downloading 1 GB of the file.

It may be useful to download TreeSize by Jam. It will review all your folders and files and show which folder(s) contains the most files (disk space).. This may still be laborious but may help you if there are other large folders you are not aware of.

In Chrome, open settings and expand the advanced section. Click the "content settings" button, then "all cookies and site data". In the window that opens, search for mega. Click the result and you should see a "file system" button. Click that and it should show persistent storage taking up a large amount of space. Click "remove" and you space will be freed.

I am using Windows 11 and Chrome the latest version. I would request you please mention the device, browser name, and version and also the operating system you are using, so we can try to replicate the issue at our end.

I tried to use the browserstack based on your video and the mega menu is just working properly. I suspect that this is just a specific issue on your machine. I suggest that you try to reinstall your Chrome or browsers.

Grotto told us Microsoft had to be "dragged kicking and screaming" to provide logging capabilities to the government by default, and given the fact the mega-corp banked around $20 billion in revenue from security services last year, the concession was minimal at best.

Add to that concerns over an Exchange Online intrusion by Chinese snoops, and another Microsoft security breach by Russian cyber operatives, both of which allowed spies to gain access to US government emails, and Grotto says it's fair to classify Microsoft and its products as a national security concern.

"At the end of the day, Microsoft, any company, is going to respond most directly to market incentives," Grotto told us. "Unless this scrutiny generates changed behavior among its customers who might want to look elsewhere, then the incentives for Microsoft to change are not going to be as strong as they should be."

well the computers, 2 different ones, both windows, upon trying to establish a connection with the trosmart element mega, they do, but they are shown as headphones. that in turn makes the sound very bad, because I suppose the sound works differently on headphones and speakers?!
