I connected an iPad to the Mac and ran configurator as usual, updating from a back up, however it stalled out at the "Restoring Default Data" step. I tried clicking the Stop button, and now it says it's "Canceling..." but it's still not doing anything. The iPad has the apple logo and a progress bar that's at about 80%. I was able to restore one of our other iPad without trouble after I pressed start, but I can't seem to accomplish anything. Can I unplug the iPad safely and "factory reset" it or something and then update from a back up?

I am looking for a way to prevent location services from being turned off on our ipads and iphones. The app pops up letting the end user know that location services are on and allows the end use to disable.

We have got round this using restrictions on the device under settings > general > restrictions and then disallowing the change to location settings. - only downside is that it has to be configured on the device - we do it before rollout.

I have asked Apple to add this functionality as I believe they will have to develop code to all MDM vendors to enforce this restriction. At this time there isn't even a way to develop a restriction through Apple Configurator 2 or any other restriction payload method.

What if the device in question currently has location services turned off? Will locking the setting automatically turn location services on as well as permanently locking that option down, or will it leave the location services permanently off?

I know this is an old post but I wanted to provide an update to this. As of today, it appears that disabling the supervised restriction "Allow modifying Find My Friends settings" no longer greys out the Location Services switch for devices running on 13.1.2.

Another feature to be aware of is Lost Mode (for supervised devices) - which will "wake" location services, even if the user has disabled them. It wont lock location services on once Lost mode is disabled, which sounds like what you're looking for. Thought I'd mention it anyway

We are swapping out a subassembly in the parent configurator with another configurable part. The only reason that we have that part as configurable is becuase it will not launch the subconfigurator inside of it. So since it HAS to be configurable, we just created a dummy configurator with a blank page that the user clicks through. after they click through it, the subconfigurator launches for the part inside of it.

What about treating it like a hybrid template/super BOM? Have both subassemblies listed as materials, making sure the configurable one is pulled as an assembly, with Keep When rules in place so that only one is ever kept. That might allow the configurator to detect the configurable part within the subassembly (when kept) without having to make the subassembly configurable because the configurable part shows up directly on the BOM.

Super boms are not maintainable for our organization. Way too many keep when rules to write and keep track of. To clarify, the assembly that we are configuring is 2 levels down. It is a child of a child to the parent part which also poses a problem when rev and mom structure changes occur. All the method rules get messed up if you change assembly sequences or mtl sequences. The way we are attempting to create our configurators eliminates the need for many keep when rules and the problems of having child method rules, but in order to do it, we have to use subconfigurators and these dummy subconfigurators that I do not want to see.

The force transducers of the K series have a nominal force range of 200 N to 630 kN and, with an accuracy class of 0.02 to 0.05, are the premium class among GTM's force sensors. They use the bending ring principle as a single integrated measuring process for force measurement. These load cells therefore set standards for accuracy, reliability and quality.

An especially positive feature is their low sensitivity to parasitic influences (shear forces, bending moments, torsional moments and temperature fluctuations). They can withstand forces up to 300 % of the nominal capacity without breakage and up to 150% without zero-point shift. With a fixed cable connection, the K series load cells achieve IP rating IP68.

The intuitive user interface leads you to your individual K series transducer in only five steps. It is available on all devices, whether desktop or mobile, and saves you a lot of time and work. You don't have to search through catalogs, call sales staff or read data sheets - we support you in selecting the right solution for you.

Certain preferred variants with shortened delivery times are also suggested to you in the configurator. Helpful tool tips, clear status displays and descriptive images add to the completely new GTM user experience. - And if there are still open questions, we are there for you.

GTM's new configurator makes configuring Series K force transducers quick and easy in just five steps - and that with a selection of more than 13,000 possible force sensor variants. The easy-to-use step-by-step process saves a lot of time and effort in finding the right force transducer: no need to leaf through catalogs, call sales staff or read data sheets. Registration is just as unnecessary as searching through extensive equipment options. Helpful tool tips, clear status displays and descriptive images add to the completely new GTM user experience.

You can rely on us at any time! We are your competent, trustworthy and first point of contact when it comes to calibration and traceability of your force transducers, load cells and metrological standard machines or the entire measurement chain.

Accessories from GTM fit perfectly and are durable and reliable in all measurement setups. Whether mechanical adapters or measuring cables and the corresponding plugs and sockets - all from one source.

To match the force transducers, torque transducers and multi-component transducers, GTM also offers the appropriate strain gauge measurement amplifiers for high-precision use for measurement data acquisition from 10 to 100 ppm.

Since the IFBC is a configurable part of the policy management system you can create and edit templates, it checks the consistency of these. When you configure a template, you enter data about interface control and the structure information that is required for managing data. If you classify certain characteristics as being relevant for the IFBC, you can control these using the IFBC, provided the associated entity has also been classified as relevant for the IFBC. The IFBC copies the Customizing settings for the field modifiers and for default values and permitted value ranges, and really does not influence any functions that are defined in business rules or business functions.

Policy templates are the central control of the In-Force Business Configuration are part of the individual Customizing, and control the behavior of the objects (sales product, product, premium and so on) during operation runtime.

A template determines how an object is to behave at runtime in the policy management system. You can create templates for the objects you have marked as IFBC-relevant in the PBT (Policy Based Technology) .

Policy templates contain information, such as product assignment; behavior of the characteristics of the entities like field modification, default values, value ranges; and instances of the entities that influence in-force business attributes.

These templates simplify day-to-day business. You can define default values for all the fields classified as relevant for the IFBC. Therefore, IFBC can configure the policy business object for the policy management system and create templates containing the product knowledge relevant for in-force business. The IFBC also manages data that can be defined in a product engine, such as Product Engine (msg.PM). The IFBC, therefore, contains functions for copying static product data from a product engine to the IFBC templates.

Hi All, has anyone been able to force private mode for Safari/WebClips (non-full screen)? I also checked new profile settings in Apple Configurator 2 and found nothing. We need to perform purchase transactions but don't want to retain any shopping cart/personal information from previous sessions. I know we're not on the latest JSS version, but will upgrade if this is fixed.

Not possible, as far as I know. Users can opt to not be in private mode at any time. However, if you enable web filtering and chose to block adult content, that also removes the possibility of clearing web browsing history, and disables the possibility of using private mode. So, the exact opposite of what you need...

This is a very old topic, but it seems like nothing has changed and it's still not possible. I'd love to set private mode on a domain-basis either in Safari in general, or in a WebClip if the former is not possible.

I manage a Web Clip for a team of engineers who use a CMDB solution (ServiceNow) for checking industrial & scientific equipment in the field. They do this on iPads using Safari. The CMDB solution is a cloud-based web interface, no third-party apps are required. Basically, I use MDM to push-out a Web Clip that tells Safari to open a specific private URL on the engineers iPads.
