Greetings fellow film fans:
There is only one new movie opening in local theaters this week, and that is the latest Jurassic Park sequel, which is getting disappointing reviews. Due to the Independence Day holiday, theaters changed their release schedule this week. Several movies that were in town yesterday are already gone. There are also relatively few movies to choose from in town this week, in part because of multiple screens being used for "Jurassic World: Rebirth, and "F1: The Movie" as well as special showings of sports events, kids film series and some revival showings of older films.

Greetings fellow film fans:
There is only one new movie, "Superman" opening in local theaters this week. This is the seventh Superman movie after "Superman and the Mole Men", starring George Reeves, released in 1951. This new Superman is  getting good reviews.

Speaking of advance reviews, as more reviews have come in on "Jurassic World: Rebirth", the reviews are looking better, C+ (6 out of 10) up from a C rating (5 out of 10) on earlier reviews. There will be only eight movies, total, being shown at local theaters on Friday, July 11, due to multiple screens being used for "Jurassic World: Rebirth", and "Superman". In addition, there will also be special showings of sports events, kids film series and some revival showings of older films.

For you Anime fans, a new one is coming to town early next week, maybe before I get around to the next email. It is "Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death - The Movie" being shown in the original Japanese dub and the English dub, too (they the two versions "Sub" and "Dub" because of the English subtitles often used on Japanese dubbed versions in the USA). It opens on July 16 at Studio City.

Greetings fellow film fans:
Two new movies are opening in Laramie theaters this week. The first is the latest attempt to reboot Marvel's Fantastic Four series. This one is called "Fantastic Four: First Steps". The other new film is the latest so-called "Twisted Childhood" horror movie, "Bambi: The Reckoning" in which a deer, Bambi, becomes a mutated serial killer.

"Fantastic Four: First Steps" follows animated Fantastic Four TV series in the late 1960s and 1990s, an unreleased Fantastic Four 1994 film (farmed out to the late Roger Corman to keep the screen rights alive) and other less than successful Fantastic Four films released in 2005, 2007 and 2015. Some say the unreleased Roger Corman version is still the best Fantastic Four movie, despite its very small budget.

The best movies in town this week, are "Superman" (2025), "How to Train Your Dragon" (2025) and "F1: The Movie".

to Laramie Film Society announcements

Greetings fellow film fans:
Four new movies are opening in Laramie theaters this week, the animated comedy sequel "The Bad Guys 2", the silly comedy series reboot "The Naked Gun", the horror movie "Together" and a sports documentary, "Nothing But a Winner".

Very few documentaries receive a wide enough distribution to come to Laramie theaters, and "Nothing But a Winner" is one of the exceptions. It is about Alabama football coaching legends Paul William "Bear" Bryant and Nicholas Lou Saban Jr. (who is also a sportscaster and former NFL coach).

The best movies in town this week, are "Together", "The Fantastic Four: First Steps", "Superman" (2025), "How to Train Your Dragon" (2025) and "F1: The Movie".
