Greetings fellow film fans:
Movie awards season is rolling along, and two more projected
Academy Award Best Picture contenders are showing up this week,
including the Oz-themed musical, "Wicked (part one)" which opens
tonight (Wednesday, November 20) and "Gladiator II" opening
tomorrow. Other projected Oscar Best Picture contenders already
in town, but not for long, are "Conclave" and "Anora". Also
opening in town tomorrow is a historical drama, "Bonhoeffer:
Pastor. Spy. Assassin." Opening on Tuesday, November 26 is the
animated sequel, "Moana 2" which might also have a shot at an
Oscar nomination, if it is any good.
The best movies in town this week, are "Anora", "Conclave",
"Heretic", "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever", "We Live in Time",
"Smile 2" and "The Wild Robot".
Since Thanksgiving is next week, it looks like more movies
currently playing in Laramie, like "Anora", "The Best Christmas
Pageant Ever", "Heretic", "Red One" and "Venom: The Last Dance"
could leave town by November 27, but it is too early to tell.
The movie listings for local theaters below don't include
limited run movies showing in Laramie now and during the next
few days, including, "Elf" (2003) "Pom Poko" (1994) "The Tale of
the Princess Kaguya" (2013) and "The Polar Express" (2004) along
with other special event showings. Check the local theater web
