I regularly attend the LA Geek dinners since, of course, I am a geek, but also because it is a great place to meet other tech minded people. 

Even if your group is not tech-oriented, you might have need for tech knowledgeable people to help with the groups you organize. The LA Geek Dinner, could be a great place to meet them. Consider stopping by and striking up a conversation. You never know where it might lead.
