As a signatory to the Paris Declaration on aid effectiveness, the World Bank (WB) committed to increase recipient countries' ownership of development aid as well as align and harmonise aid flows under recipient countries' leadership. The World Bank has renewed this commitment by signing the Accra Agenda for Action and endorsing the Busan Partnership which built on the principle of democratic ownership. But how has the WB delivered on this commitment? To what extent has the WB been able to wield influence over countries' development strategies?
Call for
contributions!
The Reality of Aid Network is pleased to announce that the October issue of the Reality Check is now in the making. The publication will be launched during the Annual Ministerial meeting in Tokyo, Japan in early October of this year. We are seeking contributions from CSOs. Interested authors are expected to submit their articles by 17 September 2012.
For more details on how to contribute please contact the secretariat as soon as
possible at secretariat@realityofaid.org.
