Dictionary, Corpus,
Lao Terms/

I totally agree with Pan re
"> Ideally both En-Lo and Lo-En should be work on, but given our limited
> resources I suggest we concentrate on En-Lo. The main reason being there are
> more learning material in English that can benefit Lao people more than
> Lao-En translation.".

However I do not think you need to filter and sort matched English word entries identified anyfurther. Lao-Eng word pairs contained in files that are stored in
https://sites.google.com/site/eng2lao/home/files
are in format that is completely ready to be entered into Google Translate TM, no further manipulation are required. One just need to 'copy Lao word from line 1 and paste it on top of English word in line 2', and that's it. See the 'how to' section mentioned ealier.

Note I personally will be reluctant to use "telaolex" table from http://park.lao.net/cgi-bin/readdata.cgi?SELECT=lentry,eentry,tentry%20from%20telaolex since
1- there are significant number of Thai words used as placeholders for missing Lao words (eventhough written in Lao characters). I know you can replace them properly later on. However there is a danger people will start to think they are proper Lao words, and also it can potentially turns people off from participating and volunteering in the exercise, and
2- I thought you want to minimise people from use http://park.lao.net/cgi-bin/readdata.cgi since it's hosted on your small private server.

From now I think we should start storing data files in Google provided facility, plentifull of space (you can create multiple sites for space) and very familiar to most people wordwide.

This is not to minimise the value of the great work you have done ( Pan), that has served us well as springboard to the current project/ excercise in question. Credit goes to you, Pan.

Hakpeng,

NB., thanks for this info (you have just given me another homework!). It should be a handy khowledge to have.
