The highly anticipated return of the International Emmy Award-winning El Seor de los Cielos and Rafael Amaya to the lead role has given Telemundo a much needed ratings boost in primetime. Audiences were drawn to the network's longest-running original series in large numbers.

Season 8 of kicked off with a two-hour debut that propelled Telemundo to the #1 spot among primetime dramas, regardless of language and has kept that momentum 6 out of 9 nights since its premiere, among adults 18-49, and on 8 out of 9 nights among adults 18-34, according to Nielsen data.

El Seor de los Cielos managed to stay on top in its new timeslot, at 9 pm ET, fending off rival Univision. During all of its prior seasons the series was king at 10 pm. According to the company, the move to an hour earlier was "a strategic programming decision" - one that didn't pay off for its predecessor, season 3 of La Reina del Sur, despite a heavy promotion campaign on network late-night shows and NBC platforms, as well as social media. Reina never made it to number one in the timeslot, but that strategy seems to be working for the new narco series, although the competition is tight with Univision.

The eighth season of El Seor de los Cielos is led by Rafael Amaya as the notorious Aurelio Casillas, presumed dead by his family, friends and enemies, who is planning his comeback and revenge. The ensemble cast includes Carmen Aub, Ivn Arana, Isabella Castillo, Alejandro Lpez, Rubn Cortada, frica Zavala and Yuri Vargas, with the special participation of Lisa Owen, Robinson Diaz and Salvador Pineda.

Amaya hit two home runs, including a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning, and high Class A Rancho Cucamonga (Dodgers) kept its season alive with a 6-5 win over Lake Elsinore (Padres) in Game 3 of the California League semifinals.

Starling Heredia led off the ninth inning with a pinch-hit, game-tying home run to set the stage. Amaya followed and, after letting a first-pitch curveball bounce in the dirt, sent a high fastball deep beyond the left-center field wall for the winner.

Lake Elsinore reliever Mason Fox served up the back-to-back homers to Heredia and Amaya in the ninth to take the loss. Wills Montgomerie allowed two runs in 5.1 innings of relief to pick up the win for Rancho Cucamonga.

With Lake Elsinore three outs away from clinching the series and moving on to the Cal League championship round, Heredia pinch-hit for catcher Garrett Hope to lead off the bottom of the ninth and annihilated a first-pitch fastball down the left-field line to tie it.

The Real World: Hawaii is the eighth season of MTV's reality television series The Real World, which focuses on a group of diverse strangers living together for several months in a different city each season, as cameras follow their lives and interpersonal relationships. It is the fourth season of The Real World to be filmed in the Pacific States region of the United States, and the first season set in the United States to be filmed outside of the contiguous United States.

The season featured seven people who lived in a modern beach house in Honolulu, Hawaii, which production started from January to May 15, 1999. The season premiered on June 15, of that year and consisted of 23 episodes.

The cast was heavily concerned with castmate Ruthie Alcaide's excessive drinking, which resulted in her leaving the house to enter an alcohol treatment program.[2] This was cited as one of the series' memorable moments by Time magazine.[3]

Almost every season of The Real World, beginning with its fifth season, has included the assignment of a season-long group job or task to the housemates. The seven housemates worked at the Waikiki Location of Local Motion, a clothing and surf apparel store. They were responsible for booking in-store entertainment under a company they christened "7 Strangers Productions."

Amaya went on to co-host two shows on astrology via webradio and podcast. On the Cosmic Sutra, she and a psychic discuss astrology, while Stargazing is a gossip show about how celebrities can employ astrology to their advantage.[2]

Colin was part of the cast of the short-lived comedy television series M.Y.O.B.[12] In 2005, he released a guide book, titled A New Ladies' Man: A Complete Guide to Getting, Pleasing, and Keeping the Girl.[13] He later went into educational leadership.[14]

Ruthie Alcaide went on to become a singer in a band, and a lecturer on college campuses about her experiences.[2][15] She has also appeared in alcohol awareness commercials on the Armed Forces Network (AFN).[2][16][17] Explaining her dislike of labels pertaining to her sexual orientation, she has stated that she does not like being called "straight", "gay" or "bisexual", saying, "Just call me Ruthie".[15] In 2018, she appeared in the movie The Rainbow Bridge Motel.[18]

Teck Holmes went on to pursue an acting career, appearing in films such as National Lampoon's Van Wilder and First Daughter, and on television series such as The Hughleys, The Parkers, Friends[2][19] and NCIS.[20] He has hosted TV shows such as MTV's Direct Effect,[2] and the Cartoon Network game show Hole in the Wall.[21][22] His group The Firemen produced a music video for their song "Smoke With Me" that played on BET.[2]

Before proposing to Luis and the company that we do an eighth season, I wanted to be sure that I was mentally, spiritually, psychologically, and physically prepared to execute the character because I had already done six seasons and knew what was required.

So I was already psyched up, and I simply continued doing what I started, preparing myself, exercising and personal things, preparing myself for the character, because I already knew what I was going to do in Mexico, and what a tv series of this magnitude implies.

The only thing I had to do was to get energy and exercise. I already have the character; there is a wealth of previous information about the role, which is very useful for executing the scenes. I simply go home, exercise, and relax. I also relax on set. The real payoff for reaching the goal is getting to the location and executing my character.
